Silk Way Weekly: Center for Afghan Journalists reported closing Dari and Pashtu websites of websites of RF and VOA by the Taliban on 10 February.
Taliban closed FM frequencies of RF and VOA one month ago. Taliban in a statement accused them of “violating principles of journalism” and lacking news balance. Center for Afghan Journalists said the act was a clear sign of “Violating law on media” and considered it as the continuing suppression policy of media by the Taliban.
Center for Afghan Journalists has urged the Taliban group to observe the Law on Media which has been ratified by the group and reverse the restrictions imposed on media.
