Taliban restricted ferrying out of Sikh scripture out of Afghanistan

Jade-Abresham(Silk Way): Punit Singh Chandock president of Indian World Forum said on
September 14 that the Taliban led-government has denied ferrying out Sri Guru Grant Sahib to India.

Chandock said it was planned 60 Afghan Sikhs to go to India but Taliban denied ferrying out them due to religious respect.

Ministry of Culture and Information of Taliban said ferrying out religious texts was prohibited unless issuing a license by the MCI. But Afghan Sikhs say MCI does not observe the law.

Tens of Afghan Sikhs have left Afghanistan

Religious minority groups have deliberately been under attack during the recent years; and several attacks have been carried out on Hindu and Sikhs in Afghanistan killing and injuring many of them and destroying their several temples.

ISIS in a recent attack on Sikhs temple in Karte Parwan killed 2 Sikhs and injured seven of them.

Before taking power by the Taliban about 300 Sikhs households lived in Afghanistan, but now only 110 households live in the country.
