Jade-Abresham(Silk Way): The International Center for Journalism (ICFJ) awarded Afghan journalist Anisa Shaheed along with six other journalists including some Ukrainian journalists and one journalist from El Salvador.
Anisa Shahid urged the international agencies supporting the media to take all the possible measures to keep alive the freedom of speech in Afghanistan.
Last year, Anisa Shaheed was also recognized as “The Face of Freedom of Speech” by Free Speech Hub and was awarded the best journalist of the year.
Reporters Without Borders awarded Anisa Shahid “the Champion of Awareness Raising Award,” in 2020.
Anisa Shiad received this Award while 90 percent of Afghan women journalists lost their jobs after the Kabul fell. The Taliban take care government imposes new limitations on women each day. They have newly ordered Afghan women presenters to wear a mask while presenting. The Taliban officials expelled Marjan Wafa, the only female journalist in Herat city, from a press conference on May 20, 2022.
