Hazara Refugees in Islamabad; We Face Systematic Genocide in Afghanistan

Jade-Abresham(Silk Way): it is about 90 days that Afghan refugees have gone on a strike and have opened advocacy tents.

One of the participants told Jade-Abresham Weekly, the aim of the strike was to attract the attention of the international community, The United Nations and those countries accepting immigrants.

He said that no country and agency including the UN have paid attention to their demands yet and their fate is unclear.

About 8 percent of the people who have gone on a strike are Hazaras of Afghanistan. They separated their line after a while and chanted They are systematically under attack of the terrorist groups and face genocide in the country.

Hazara refugees in coordination with Pakistan police marched from Islamabad Press Club to a short distance on July 4.

About 650 people including women and children participated in the march. They called on the international community, immigrant accepting countries, and human rights organizations to find a viable solution to their problems.

They said it was 3 months that they had gone on a strike, but no organization or country have pledged them a positive response. Many of the families face food and shelter problems.
