Weekly jade-abresham: From the first edition of weekly Jade-Abresham which published 25th June 2016 to latest issue on 12th Aguste our main goal was to cover news and articles on Human rights, women, children, ethnic and religious minority rights. We also covered war crimes, civilian casualties. Our main responsibility was to stand for freedom of speech and democratic values. we fought against corruption and discriminations at all government levels. From both sides (insurgents like Taliban and government). Therefore, we were always under pressure and direct threat. Our team members were active in social movements and civil society.
We have published 186 weekly volumes so far. Its latest issue was published on August 12, 2021, under the title ” Hazara’s nation Massacre in the last twenty years.” This issue was devoted to the dangers posed by the Taliban Islamic Emirate to Women and ethnic minority in Afghanistan. According to UNAMA research most of Hazara Massacre has been done by the Taliban.Following the issue of this publication, the Taliban captured the city of Kabul.
Special editions on human rights
1- The Valley of Terror (Jalrez, Maidan Wardak) (160th Edition, 15 Feb, 2020) – several investigative reports on Hostage-taking, extortion, kidnapping, shooting and beheading of Hazara people on their journey from Hazarajat to Kabul, the highway passing the Jalrez district, known as the “Death Road” for Hazaras, have been published in this special edition. On the highway, 108 Hazara men and women had been shot and beheaded by Taliban till 2019.
2- We had published a special edition (159th edition, 25 Jan, 2020) on the non-approval of Children’s Rights Law by the House of Representative of Afghanistan. Some religious fundamentalist members of the parliament considered this law a violation of Islamic Law and insisted that Child Marriage is a Islamic tradition. The Jade- Abresham Weekly strongly opposed them and we were threatened by some MPs.
3- on 7th September 2019 (edition 151) weekly’s special edition in 14 A3 pages was named “the shadow of Terror”. this special edition about Hazara genocide in Afghanistan. On those days Taliban killed Samad Amiri who was chief of human rights commission in Ghor province, we were the first media to publish his Activities and biography.
4- The 132nd edition, dated 16 April 2019 was a special issue titled “Terror Industry”– it was devoted to the massacre of 5000 Hazaras and Shi’a ethnic minority. This massacre was committed by the Taliban on 8, 9 and 10 August 1998 in Yakawlang district of Bamyan and Mazar-e-Sharif.
5- In 2019, the Taliban attacked Malistan, Urozgan Khas and Jaghori districts of Ghazni province. In this attack nearly 50 were killed and wounded and thousands of families were displaced. Our rand reporter, Khaleq Ebrahimi, travelled to these districts. His investigative report was published under the title of “Hazarajat War and Peace” on the (123th edition, 12 Jan, 2019).
6- Weekly Jade- Abresham’s (19th edition, 11 Nov, 2016) published an investigative report on “Tabassum Movement” in which protesters took the bodies of seven passengers who had been beheaded by terrorist groups on the Zabul-Kabul Highway and protested in front of the Presidential Palace. These seven people belonged to the Hazara ethnic minority.
7- Jade- Abresham weekly’s 13th edition, dated 3 Sep 2016, published a special issue about the massacre of the “Enlightenment Movement”. in this movement 80 protester were killed in 400 others were wounded due to a suicide bomb attack in Dehmazang, Kabul. The Enlightenment Movement which was formed to protest the government’s decision to re-route an important power line from Turkmenistan (bypassing large swaths of Hazara-dominated territories), emerged as the most powerful movement in terms of challenging the Afghan government.
