The Silk Way Weekly: Taliban has detained two former members of the national army and son of the former security commander of Miramor district, Daykondi.
Local sources in Daykondi, told the Silk Way weekly on Friday, 31 January, 2025, two former members of the former security forces named Mohammad Ali Tofan and Mohammad Amin, were arrested in Sharistan district of Daykondi.
These sources added that Taliban detained the two former security forces on Wednesday, January 28, while they were working with the local residents on construction of Sharistan and Miramor districts.
In addition to this, local sources say Taliban arrested the son of Miramor former district commander from “Chaprasak” bazar in sharistan.
Local sources say Ghulam Hussian Ebrahimi father of Samad Shirzad immigrated to Iran with his family after the Taliban takeover and they live in Iran now.
According to the sources, Samad Shirzad was a university student during the republic government and had no military activities with ANSF.
Taliban usually arrest close members of the families of the former security forces in Daykondi.
Taliban arrested Mohammad Zabuli, a former security forces in the former government on August 4, 2022 in Naweh Mish district of Daykondi and then executed him.
Mohammad Zabuli immigrated to Iran after the Taliban takeover, but when he was informed that his 1o years son was arrested by Taliban, he returned to the Naweh Mish. When Taliban were informed, he had returned home, they surrounded his house and he was arrested after several hours of armed clashes and then he was imprisoned by the Taliban.
On December 24, a former security forces named Sayed Hashim sent a video from Bargar, Miramor district to Afghanistan International TV saying his brother was arrested by Taliban.
According to Hashimi Taliban had arrested his father some days ago and they have arrested my father now. None of them have been a member of the former security forces. “I was shifted to Balkh province one month before the Taliban takeover but I did not go there. Then how I could deliver weapons and equipment by plane from Nimruz to Daykondi?
In his video, Hashimi said that he quit his job before the fall of the regime, and after the fall of the republic, he immigrated to Iran and was engaged in construction work. He also shared his video from his workplace, wearing the same work clothes. According to him, he is not a member of any armed group, he is neither a member of the Resistance Front nor a member of the Liberation Front.
Recalling the point that the Taliban administration had announced a general amnesty order, how after this order, they continue to persecute the members of the former armed forces of the former regime or their families and relatives, he asked the authorities of Miramor district of Daikundi province to release his family and stop persecuting them.
Sayed Zaher Hashimi, also in an interview with the Silk Way said Taliban had arrested over three yers three times his father and one time his brother and has demanded them to hand weapons to Taliban. They are released based on bail now.
Dr. Sayd Rasul Hashimi and Dr. Mahdavi Hashimi, father and brother of Sayd Zaher, are both doctors and they are working in the health sector.
According to a source who did not want to disclose his name, four months ago, Juma Khan, the son of Haji Naib, a resident of Siah Dara Bargar area of Miramor district, had arrested and tortured another former military man and a resident of Miramor district of Daikundi province, and had also asked him for weapons. According to the source, he put plastic on Juma Khan’s head and put it in the water. Also, he would put the pillow over his mouth and hold his breath so that the marks of torture would not remain. Finally, having received the money, he had released him.
